Our inaugural fundraising campaign was for an East London teenage boy; Ntando Nokama, who underwent a double below the knee amputation at the age of eight after suffering from an illness.  His dream to play basketball has recently become a reality after receiving Bilateral Blades because of the Rocking the Stocking fundraising campaign.

Marissa Nel & Associates has a large amount of Compression Stockings available which we have committed to donating to anyone who needs, and in return we are asking for a donation towards the Rocking the Stocking fundraising campaign set up to exclusively raise funds towards selected recipients.

We were recently introduced to Fihliwe Ngguthwana; a 13-year-old who suffered from ostegenic sarcoma bone cancer and as a result had her leg amputated.  Fihliwe’s passionate Principal; Tobeka Vapi from at Maganise Junior Secondary School, in Ngqeleni O.R.Tambo District, approached Marissa Nel & Associates to see what assistance she could source for the quiet little girl who she had noticed had become so withdrawn since the amputation.

Fihliwe’s mom Susan, who is unemployed is dedicated to Fihliwe’s health, happiness, and education.  Fihliwe said she enjoyed playing outside with the other children, but now struggles with balance and needs to rely on crutches to move around. She is excited at the prospect of getting a prosthetic leg and dreams about jumping on a jumping castle like she saw all the other children at her school do at their last fun day.

We would love to be able to assist Fihliwe with her mobility so she can live life to the fullest.

We encourage anyone who needs Compression Stockings to pop into our offices to receive a free pair and help us fundraise towards the prosthetic leg for Fihliwe by donating towards the Rocking the Stocking initiative.
